Replaced Product Technology
Replaced proprietary Java-based technology in a product line with J2EE and open source based portal and mobile technologies. This contributed to cutting product release times to market in half and reducing development and operational costs by 25% a year for several years.
Rebuilt Website
Existing website was outdated, lacked support for mobile devices, and used a custom content management system. Architected and led team of staff, outside designers, and technology vendors in redesigning and rebuilding new website. Launched new web presence in 12 months with public site for marketing communications and member portal for premium client access, including major face lift, sophisticated content management and community building capabilities, and access by mobile devices. Website increased average monthly revenue 150% in 6 months, and potential clients are staying on the site 300% longer than previously.
Retooled and Automated Business Processes
Retooled company’s collective intelligence production system and automated internal business processes, including moving forecast creation and editing from an ineffective manual email based circulation process to online workflow process. Transitioned managing manual notices for receiving and approving expert applications to an automated online process. Changes, combined with better management of website, news, articles, and other content, improved productivity and efficiency 100%.
Implemented Virtual Meetings
Spearheaded implementation of web conferencing system on corporate intranet. Technology is used corporate wide for product development, project management, as well as for management and board meetings. As a result, virtual meetings increased team productivity through easier and wider access, increased corporate communications, and reduced travel costs by 20% a year.
